backstage, Cardano (ADA) is actively building and delivering exciting innovations to the blockchain and its ecosystem. This is evident in the latest Weekly development report Posted by Cardano core.

Cardano: Highlights from the report

One of the highlights of the report includes updates to Cardano lace wallet. This week, the team is said to be working on a feature that allows users to choose the rep ratio between “various stock groups, and the continuity of the integrated portfolio.” The team also fixed issues related to user experience (UI).

The wallet was launched earlier this year to a welcoming reception, with many excited about its functionality and the multiple use cases it offers users. At launch, the development team promised to continue providing new updates to the wallet.

The report also notes that users can get an update to the DApp connector, allowing them to enable it with specific extensions “such as those listed in CIP-95.” An update to the wallet’s user interface that reflects different types of governance procedures is also imminent.

Meanwhile, the Plutus Tools team has identified key issues related to the Cardano blockchain using the new Marconi API. Marconi was developed to help index and query the blockchain. The team also used this solution to test a new “Cardano node simulator,” which is expected to be integrated into the blockchain’s smart contract code.

Meanwhile, the Plutus Tools team made certain improvements to Marconi, improving sync times and overall system performance.

The Marlowe team was also busy this week, making specific modifications to the Marlowe Oracle. Marlowe is the code that allows Cardano users to create decentralized applications (dApps).

Updates to Bashou and preparation for Voltaire

The Hydra and Mithril teams focused on modernizing the current development phase of Cardano, Basho. The Basho era is the fourth stage of Cardano’s development, with a primary focus on scalability and interoperability.

On the one hand, the Hydra team worked to improve network usability and identify ways to enhance network resilience. On the other hand, the Mithril team has released a new update that allows support for certain actions on the network. They also made corrections to the Mithril nodes.

Cardano is also preparing as it moves into its last and final development phase known as Voltaire. This phase will focus on governance. Voltaire GovTool has been shared with ADA holders as part of its preparations.

It will enable them to register as Delegate Representatives (DReps), allow them to delegate their voting authority to other DReps, and decide on various governance actions.
